How We Curate the Water

The best beach of the week is the one you weren't expecting.

Google the island and you will get the same five beaches in the same five orders. Most weeks here get booked around that list. Grote Knip on a Tuesday when four ships are in port. The turtles at Piskado in a scrum. A rental car parked on the wrong end.

Before your week starts, we pull the cruise calendar for your dates. The day with zero ships becomes your west coast day. We know which beach catches the afternoon wind. We know the 3-minute stop almost everyone drives past.
We know which roadside snack has the pastechi.

You never hear this part of it. You just notice the beach is empty and the water is right.

The Big Day

The day you drive west.

Four beaches, turtles, a batido on the way home. Scheduled on the zero-ship day of your week. Packed cooler, Bluetooth speaker, the good snorkels.
Leave at 9. Back before 4.

Sea turtle surfacing at Playa Piskado, a child in snorkel gear in the background, golden morning light
Stop 01 · Westpunt · ~10:00

Playa Piskadó — The Turtles.

The turtles are the headline.

Kids with masks. Parents with phones they keep forgetting to use. Fishermen cleaning the morning catch on the dock — which is why the turtles came in the first place. If you came to Curaçao for one photograph, this is where you take it.

Grote Knip from above — postcard turquoise, cliffs on either side, a family walking the shoreline
Stop 02 · The Big One

Grote Knip — The Postcard.

The big beach. The postcard.

Cliffs on either side, water you wouldn't believe if a camera showed it to you. The jump from the cliff is optional for the brave ones. The drive in is one of the most photographed on the island — pull over, we won't judge.

Kleine Knip at midday — entirely empty, two snorkelers, palms and cliffs framing the cove
Stop 03 · Locals' favorite

Kleine Knip — The Overlooked One.

Three minutes south of the big one.

The most overlooked beach on the island. Usually empty. Golden sand, green cliffs, crystal water, excellent snorkeling. This is the locals' favorite. Most tours skip it. We don't. Three-minute stop. Don't skip it.

Porto Mari from the water — double reef visible below, pigs on the sand in the background
Stop 04 · Lunch often here

Porto Mari — The Reef.

Double reef — 30 seconds into a parrotfish parade.

Swim out from shore and be in a parrotfish parade in 30 seconds. Yes, the wild pigs on the sand are real. Yes, they will pose for a photo. The snack bar at the back does a good burger. Lunch here if the morning ran long.

On The Drive

Two stops that aren't on any map we'd give you.

On the drive out, stop at a roadside snack for pastechi — crispy fried pockets stuffed with cheese, beef, or chicken. Island street food. Kids inhale them.

On the drive back, pull over for a batido — a fresh-fruit shake. Mango. Papaya. Passionfruit. Tamarind. Batido is more than a drink for Curaçao people. It's the taste of stopping — of pulling over, of standing at a roadside stand with nothing to do, of the day not being over yet.

What's In The Car Before You Land

The beach gear is already handled.

Snorkels for everyone. Two beach chairs. A cooler. A beach safe. A portable SUP/kayak. All of it lives at the estate. Your iCar is ready, fully charged. You grab what you need and go. Pack swimwear on top of the suitcase — the kids will see the pool and it's over.

Already Scheduled Before You Land

The beaches don't need an introduction. They need a driver.

We've already driven them. We already know which one is right for Tuesday.
