Tommy Coconut Private Resorts

Vacation is holy.

These terms exist to protect that. They govern the relationship between Tommy Coconut Private Resorts and every person who applies, books, and walks through the blue fence in Jan Thiel, Curaçao. Read them once.

By submitting an application and confirming a reservation, you agree to what follows.

1. What We Are

Tommy Coconut Private Resorts is a Private Resort. Not a hotel. Not a rental. The Dushi Week is one product: seven nights, eight estates, one family running everything from the airport pickup to the boat day to the rum.

These terms apply to that product and everything within it. We operate under the laws of Curaçao, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

2. Reservations

Every reservation starts with an application. A member of the family reads it. We call you back the same day, almost always. Usually Britt. If the week is a fit, we confirm your dates and collect a deposit to hold them.

A reservation is confirmed when two things are true:

You have written confirmation from Tommy Coconut Private Resorts.
Your deposit has cleared.

Until both are true, your dates are not held.

3. Payment

Deposit: 30% of the total week price, due at booking. Non-refundable. This is what holds the dates.

Balance: The remaining 70% is due 60 days before arrival.

Late balance: If the balance is not received by the due date, your dates are released and the deposit stays. We will contact you before that happens. We are not looking for a reason to do it.

Currency: U.S. dollars. Bank transfer preferred. Other arrangements can be made directly with the family.

4. The 48-Hour Guarantee

If, within the first 48 hours, the fit isn’t right — not the estate, not the island, not the family — we refund the remainder of the week.

No negotiation. No paperwork. No “are you sure?”

You go home. We go back to work.

This promise has existed for years. It has never been claimed. But it is here, in writing, so you know what kind of operation you are dealing with before you arrive.

The 48-Hour Guarantee applies to stays in progress. It does not apply to cancellations made before arrival. Those are governed by Section 5.

5. Cancellations

Life changes. We understand that. Here’s how it works.

More than 60 days before arrival: The deposit is forfeited. Any balance already collected is returned in full.

30 to 60 days before arrival: 50% of the total week price is forfeited. If we successfully rebook the dates, a full refund minus a 10% rebooking fee is issued.

Fewer than 30 days before arrival: The full week price is forfeited. We will attempt to rebook as a courtesy. No guarantees.

Force majeure: A closed airport. A declared state of emergency. A government travel ban to or from Curaçao. If your travel is genuinely prevented by circumstances outside your control, we will work with you directly to find a resolution. We are people. We act like it.

Travel insurance is your responsibility. Get it. The kind that covers cancellation, interruption, and delay.

6. What Is Included

The Dushi Week includes everything listed on this website as part of the standard week: the estate, daily breakfast and lunch, reserved dinners, the open bar, airport transport, the boat day, the nine scheduled Dushi Memories, and full access to the family throughout your stay via WhatsApp from the day you book.

What is not included: international flights, travel insurance, personal purchases, services requested outside the standard week, and anything not explicitly listed as part of The Dushi Week.

If something is unclear before you arrive, ask. We prefer that conversation before the trip, not during it.

7. Guest Responsibilities

Our estates are private homes. They are treated as such.

You are responsible for your party — their conduct and any damage to the villa during your stay. Damage beyond normal wear will be documented and invoiced. We are fair. We are not forgiving of carelessness.

A few hard rules:

Occupancy: Each estate has a stated maximum. It is not a starting point for negotiation. Exceeding it ends the reservation.

Prohibited: Illegal activity on the premises. Weapons. Unauthorized commercial photography or filming.

Pets: By prior arrangement only. Contact us before you book, not when you arrive.

Events: Private celebrations are welcome with advance notice. Guest counts beyond the booked party require written approval.

8. What We Are Responsible For

We have hosted over 540 stays. The 4.99-star average exists because this family takes its work seriously. We will not give you a bad week. That is not a tagline — it is a track record.

That said, some things are outside our control. Tommy Coconut Private Resorts is not liable for:

Acts of nature, weather, or island circumstances we could not have prevented
Illness, injury, or loss of personal property not caused by our negligence
Flight delays, cancellations, or travel disruptions
Third-party services that form part of the week — restaurants, dive operators, external vendors

We take responsibility for what is ours to take. We do not take it for the island.

9. Photography and Guest Content

We document estate common areas and shared experiences as part of ongoing operations. We do not photograph guests without their knowledge.

If you share photographs or testimonials publicly and tag Tommy Coconut Private Resorts, you grant us the right to share and attribute your content. You own everything you create.

Press, travel publications, and content creators with commercial intent: contact us before you arrive. Things go better that way.

10. Privacy

We collect what we need to run your week well. Nothing more. It does not leave the family.

11. Changes to These Terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Material changes are communicated directly to guests with active reservations. Checking this page occasionally is worth two minutes of your time.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Curaçao, Kingdom of the Netherlands. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of Curaçao’s courts unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.
