Why Sunset Club moved to Wednesday
For eight years, Sunset Club was the closing ritual. The last night. Bonfire, marshmallows, maybe a song, everyone a little quieter than they were on Monday. It was good. It was always good.
But by year nine, we noticed something. The week was ending on its best night. And that meant the rest of the week was climbing toward something, not settling into itself.
Wednesday changes the shape of the week
Now, Sunset Club is Wednesday, 17:30 to 20:30. Bonfire on the beach. The full family shows up. Every estate in Tommy Coconut is there. Marshmallows. Cold drinks. The song.
And because it is midweek, something unexpected happens: the back half of the week plays off it. Thursday is slower. Friday morning is Give Back Locally. Saturday is the last dinner at De Gouverneur. Sunday morning, you are packing, but you are not chasing a high. You already had it. On Wednesday.
Some traditions are worth keeping. Some are worth moving. This one needed moving.
Sunset Club is every Wednesday, 17:30 to 20:30, on the beach at Jan Thiel. Dress for the fire.
